Reiki can help support our animal companions in many ways. Reiki supports the animal’s
immune system, helps to manage pain from surgery, cancer, arthritis or other painful injuries or ailments, relaxes a stressed or anxious animal, and assists an animal during transition. Reiki addresses the root cause of acute or chronic
conditions and can be used as preventative and or maintenance care.
Reiki for animals does not require hands-on treatment. A Reiki practitioner can facilitate the treatment to the animal simply by being in close proximity to the animal. Based on the animal's response, the practitioner may lightly touch the animal or place their hands directly above the animal.
Some of the benefits Reiki brings to our beloved animal
During the session, the animal often will relax and may even go to sleep. Some animals move around during a session, absorbing the energy at their own pace. Reiki sessions for pets typically last 20 - 30 minutes. The frequency and length of sessions depends entirely on each individual animal's health status and needs.
Reiki is not a replacement for appropriate veterinarian medical care. Reiki supports medical care by accelerating
healing, reducing pain or discomfort, and stimulating the healing process.
